I'm here...

in Maryland now! Although I got here on the night of December 30th, I started school three days ago, on Monday. The first day was ordinary, then yesterday, on the second day, there were snow warnings, so I was dismissed from school early. Today is a snow day, so school is canceled altogether.

   It didn't snow today, though. Only a light dusting of microscopic ice shards. But it's good to have a day to not wake up at 6:30 a.m.

   Maryland is beautiful, even when most of the trees are bare. But I've seen pictures of it in the spring and summer, and I'll be sure to post plenty of pictures when that time comes. Some of the leaves are growing back already.

   I also went through New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and West Virginia on the way. Although it only took four days to travel this distance, we (meaning my family and me) drove an average of 12 hours a day. It was peaceful, though.

   Even though my life in Maryland is great, it's not perfect. If my friends were here, it still wouldn't be perfect. It would be priceless.
